With the onset of cold weather, the body needs more energy. And many believe that if they “lean” on red meat and other fatty foods, they will be able to saturate the body with energy. However, lovers of tasty things soon notice that the arrow on the scales is rapidly moving up. In an interview with Izvestia, nutritionist Anton Brykin told how to eat in the cold season so that you don’t have to lose weight again by summer.
So, in order not to disrupt lipid metabolism, which creates the risk of obesity, it is best to add foods with healthy fats, fiber, and reduce sugar intake to the diet.
“It is recommended to limit your intake of saturated fats and trans fats. The former are found in red meat, dairy products, palm and coconut oils, the latter in convenience foods and fast food.” Brykin explained.
As obesity increases, the risk of heart disease increases. At the same time, it is also not worth completely abandoning fats. It is only important to give preference to healthy fats, for example, sea fish, avocados, nuts.
In addition, it is desirable to combine healthy fats with fiber. It is contained in sufficient quantities in the greens and peel of fruits, carrots, beans, lentils, peas, dried mushrooms, pearl barley, buckwheat and oatmeal, apples, almonds.
And if you are still drawn to sweets, then it is best to pay attention to fruits: apples, pears, peaches, nectarines.
“In order to competently build a diet, it is advisable to first check the lipid metabolism in the body by passing tests for cholesterol and triglycerides in a complex,” concluded the specialist.
