Mick Dodge spent the last 25 years of his life away from civilization. The former Marine has radically changed his life and surroundings in favor of a different, alternative lifestyle. Talking about his current lifestyle, Mick says that this is his only real life and passion.

Mick Dodge lives in the Hoh Rainforest, which is located on the Olympic Peninsula, Washington. At the age of 62, Mick is actively involved in sports. It has a whole system of natural outdoor exercise equipment. People often come to learn about his system of exercises designed in harmony with nature. His extreme methods even include walking against the flow of the active, seething river Sol Duze.

Dodge repeatedly tells his guests about the benefits of going barefoot. He very rarely wears shoes. Whether it’s walking, running or climbing steep hills, bare feet. He has been walking barefoot since 1991 and is proud that this decision cured him of plantar fasciitis, back pain and foot pain. This technique also helped to be closer to nature, to feel it better.

It turned out to be the best decision of his life. The result became noticeable pretty quickly. Back pain, neck pain, heart problems disappeared very quickly. Dodge is a practical man. Probably, it is this trait that helps him survive in the modern world. In humid climates, he prefers to wear plastic/waterproof type clothing to help keep moisture out.

Dodge does not lead a life of total isolationism. Sometimes he even manages to find a girlfriend. He says that he met a lot of beautiful women, but left with all friendly warm relations.
