Henry Hargreaves is a New Zealand fashion and art photographer based out of his studio in Brooklyn, New York. While he has always had a passion for photography, he actually worked as a high profile fashion model for four years before switching sides and devoting himself to photography. Let’s start with Frank Sinatra, who demanded one bottle each of Jack Daniel’s, Chivas Regal, Courvoisier, Beefeater Gin, White Wine, Red Wine. Twenty-four chilled giant prawns and cough medicine
In a recent series of works, Hargreaves researched the concerts of some of the world’s most famous musicians and decided to create a series of photographs that captured the most interesting/funniest gastronomic demands. As Hargreaves himself explains: “I originally thought I would try to photograph all the items listed in the celebrity claims, but quickly realized that this would be a huge waste of money. So I decided to focus on the most quirky requests and shoot them in the Flemish baroque still life style. because I felt a straight line between the themes in these types of pictures and the artists they refer to.” Britney Spears asked for fish and chips, McDonald’s cheeseburgers without buns, 100 plums and figs, a framed photo of Princess Diana.
