Marta Klonowska is a Polish artist from Warsaw. Her passion is sculpture and she sets up her amazing broken glass animal sculptures. As a rule, she places them in front of historical paintings from legendary masters such as Rubens and d’Agard. While the original paintings had animals in secondary roles, Klonowska makes them the focus of the work.

This is how she describes her concept at the European Glass Competition:

“Animals are difficult to understand and difficult to communicate with. My glass animals open up a new reality that is different from ours. All the participants in my work perform on a kind of theatrical stage, where different levels become blurred. This clash of facts should make us think about life’s insecurities.”
